History
Constructed in the mid-1800s, the Sallie House was once home to Dr. Charles Finney, who allegedly operated a medical practice on the premises. According to local lore, a young girl named Sallie was brought to Dr.
Finney with severe abdominal pain. Believing she had appendicitis, he began surgery before the anesthesia took effect, resulting in her death on the operating table. However, there is no physical evidence confirming that a girl named Sallie lived or died in the house.
